Malinska

Malinska is a tourist resort situated on the weat coast of the island of Krk. it is surrounded by many villages among which some are named af ter saints (e.g. Sveti Vid, Sveti Ivan), and others, which are named after surnames of the local people (e.g. Bogovici, Radici, Ljutici). the wholw area, consisting of Malinska and the villages, is referred to as Dubasnica.  

Geography

Due to its position in a beautiful bay, Malinska provides protection from strong and cold winds. there is around 260 sunny days per year in Malinska. Pleasant Mediterranean climate and beautiful nature are well-known trait of the resort. The bay and the town are surrounded by thick hornbeam and pubescent oak forest.  

Active holiday

There is a vast number of cycling routes and walkpaths on the island and its total distance is around 300km. Other towns and villages in the inner part of the island and on the east coast are easily reachable by theese routes (Dobrinj, Vrbnik). Furthermore, there is a 5 km long coastal walkpath connecting Njivice, a small town north of Malinska, and Malinska itself.  

Gastronomy

The cuisine of the area is based on delicious seafood and local farmers' traditional products.
